Kettler’s Cottage Soap is made by hand using the traditional Cold Kettle method, also known as the Cold Process method. Each batch of oils is blended with an Alkaline solution and hand stirred at the correct temperature until the chemical reaction (saponification) takes place and the first stage of soap is formed. This stage is known as 'trace' and it is at this point that we add the essential oils, herbs, clays and any additional ingredients to make our own unique formulas. The newly formed soap is then poured into handmade wooden moulds and wrapped up nice and cosy. After 24hrs the soap is set and ready to be taken out of the mould. The soaps are then hand cut, trimmed, finished and left to cure on pine racks until ready for use. A specially selected blend of botanical oils including Olive, Sustainable Palm Kernel, and Organic Columbian Palm are used to ensure a good quality moisturising soap. Some of our soap formulas also have added Fair Trade Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter for their wonderful emollient properties which nourish and soften dry skin.  We use pure essential oils for fragrancing and natural colourants derived from herbs, spices and clays in our handmade soaps. We do not use any synthetic ingredients. Kettler’s Cottage soaps are suitable for those who follow a vegetarian lifestyle and some are suitable for vegans apart from the recipes containing Goats milk, Honey and Beeswax.


CARE OF YOUR SOAP: Due to the high natural glycerin content please allow your soap to drain well between uses to ensure a longer lasting bar. While your soap is waiting to be used, please keep it wrapped and store in a cool, dry place.

CAUTION: As with all cosmetic products, test on small area on inside of wrist first where possible. If irritation occurs within 24 hours, do not use.
Due to the therapeutic nature of essential oils, please seek advice from a qualified practitioner before using any product if you are pregnant or unsure of it’s suitability.
If product gets into eyes, rinse with cool water and seek further medical help if needed.

Kettler's Cottage soaps are not intended for use by young children as it is not advisable to use any scented products on young skin. It is advisable to bathe babies and infants with just pure clean water.
